.: Three :.

Locke looked back over his shoulder at Figaro castle and then struck out toward the remains of Kefka’s tower. No one knew he had gone. Celes was a heavy sleeper, so she hadn’t heard him get up. Edgar had been having breakfast with Terra and had left strict instructions to not be disturbed. Everyone else in the castle had been busy with their own private business and hadn’t thought it the least bit strange that Edgar’s long time friend had been leaving in the early hours of the morning.

A smile played at his lips. He wasn’t sure if Celes’ history would be in the ruins of Kefka’s tower, but as near as he could figure, that was where Vector and the Magitek Research Facility had been. If any secret was to be found, it would be found there. Locke remembered all too well the condition of the tower last time and didn’t recall any secret cache of information, but he was willing to search again just for Celes. ‘Maybe I’ll be able to find that inventor guy’s room. What was his name? Cid?"

Cid had been behind the organization of the Esper infusion technique and had more than likely been the one to make Celes the way she was. If anyone had known about her parents it would have been him. ‘If he’s even still alive.’ Celes didn’t talk about him and Locke had always been afraid to ask her because of how Cid had said she was like a daughter. He supposed that he should have asked, what with her wanting to find history and all, but the right time hadn’t presented itself.

Locke hesitated his progress toward Kefka’s tower and then adjusted his course toward Albrook. A few of the conversations he’d had with Celes about Cid had involved the mention of the small port town. Something about her landing there after being on a raft. He had never thought to ask her of her time on or before the raft because she had made it seem so unimportant.

"So, I’ll check it out first. Then I’ll go to Kefka’s tower."

(still in process; hoping of picking it up again.)
